Press Release for The Canterbury Community Trust 20 Year Anniversary

The Chairperson of The Canterbury Community Trust, Mr Bob Todd, announced on Tuesday, 10 July that the Trust has decided to mark this 20th anniversary by launching a special project to provide affordable housing.

The Trust has allocated $20 Million to the project to be shared amongst its constituent regions of Canterbury ($14.6m), Nelson ($3.6m) and Marlborough ($1.8m). The Trust will be approaching prospective partners to discuss their willingness to participate in this special project and to seek what they might be able to contribute to a joint venture with the Trust. Mr Todd considers that such partnerships will yield the greatest community benefit to an area which indicators show there is a real need and where the Trust's contribution will make a difference.
