The purpose of the Trust, which was established in 1988, is to distribute funds for charitable, cultural, philanthropic and recreational benefits in our four regions (Canterbury, Nelson, Marlborough and the Chatham Islands) - all of which benefit our quality of life. Our donations in turn, assist thousands of people working in numerous voluntary organisations, to create their own social and cultural dividends thereby rewarding their communities.
The Canterbury Community Trust (TCCT) trustees visited community organisations in North Canterbury on 31th October 2011. Trustees were welcomed into the new offices of Wellbeing North Canterbury – Waimakariri Community Development Trust. Staff and Trustees shared how their Trust has expanded their social services throughout North Canterbury.

The Canterbury Community Trust (TCCT) trustees visited the Champion Centre on 26th September 2011. In recent years TCCT has made annual donations to the Christchurch Early Intervention Trust which operates out of the Champion Centre. These funds help and contribute to the excellent work carried out at the Champion Centre.
It is trust policy that the Canterbury Community Trust (TCCT) will act in accordance with the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi. Put simply this means the trust will ensure Maori groups are aware of their rights to make applications, are provided with appropriate advice and receive an equitable share of the trust funds.
Tutus on Tour is one of the many and varied productions forming part of the Christchurch Arts Festival. TCCT strongly supports the Christchurch Arts Festival.
This years’ production by the Royal New Zealand Ballet takes the ballet company back to its roots – back being on the road touring the length and breath of New Zealand visiting many small towns and communities.
