About Us
The purpose of the Trust, which was established in 1988, is to distribute funds for charitable, cultural, philanthropic and recreational benefits in our four regions (Canterbury, Nelson, Marlborough and the Chatham Islands) - all of which benefit our quality of life. Our donations in turn, assist thousands of people working in numerous voluntary organisations, to create their own social and cultural dividends thereby rewarding their communities.
Kirwee Rugby Football Club
For 105 years the Kirwee Rugby Football Club has made the Kirwee district proud. And now with a brand new clubroom being constructed – there’s even more to celebrate.
It’s another significant moment in the Club’s history and one they know will make a mighty difference to the whole of the Kirewee community. Situated in the heart of the town and surrounded by the Kirwee Recreation reserve, the new extensions to the current 1950 Sports Pavilion will provide Kirweee with a facility for many different sporting codes and community events. In partnership with the Kirwee Reserves Committee and the Selwyn District Council, the existing Sports Pavilion is also being upgraded.
So this season, watch out, you may notice a new energy in the Kirwee rugby teams’ game!
The Canterbury Community Trust has donated $80,000 toward the new Kirwee Rugby Football clubrooms.
