About Us
The purpose of the Trust, which was established in 1988, is to distribute funds for charitable, cultural, philanthropic and recreational benefits in our four regions (Canterbury, Nelson, Marlborough and the Chatham Islands) - all of which benefit our quality of life. Our donations in turn, assist thousands of people working in numerous voluntary organisations, to create their own social and cultural dividends thereby rewarding their communities.
Which sector should I apply under?
The sector you apply under is determined by the aims and objectives as stated in your group’s Trust Deed or Constitution, not on the project you are wishing to complete. Your group will continue to apply under the same sector each year regardless of your project (e.g. schools always apply under ‘Education’ sector even if the project is sport or music orientated). The only reason your group would change sectors is if you change the main aim of your organisation in your Trust Deed or Constitution. If you are a first time applicant and are unsure which sector you best fall under please contact our office for advice.
